Poem #1

Frosted Daffodils

Sweet baby seeds
Crocus
And beginning grass
Coming out in all this cold
You don’t even have a coat
Just light petals
Curling opening buds
Taffeta leaves
Urging towards the bright sun
No sun today
Just gray thick clouds
And cold winds that shake the trees
And make whistling music through the house
A fire breasted robin scuttles on a red painted roof
Ying Yang weather
Yesterday we had thunder and sunshine
In the same sky
Warm and humid day
We found shelter in a crowded back porch
Watched the dark, screen blow in the high wind
The girls played a golf, racket ball hybrid
One half of our yard was being drenched and the other
sunny
